This is an ensemble piece collecting commissions for ~ParisNJones
Back in October, I was asked to draw four of his characters from one of his series. Each character was part of a rock group called The Conspiracy Theory. I drew each one and posted them separately. Pictured here (from left to right) are Clark Dancy, Rachel Jeffreys, Nicolette Townsend and Marisa Collins. Of these four, Marisa proved to be the most popular amongst my watchers. The challenge with these characters came in the form of their tattooed forms. Obviously Marisa is sans-tattoos but the other three more than make up for that. I wanted to draw each character faithfully and really wanted to capture their essence as they were described to me. I'd like to think I succeeded in getting their personality across. I also decided to showcase each one displaying their talent in the group -- Clark with his guitar, Rachel with drumsticks, Nicolette with a microphone and Marisa with a bass. I procrastinated in putting this piece together (sorry ~ParisNJones
!!!) but I always knew how I wanted it to look. It absolutely had to look like an album cover. The dimensions are square so it works out nicely. Though it may seem lazy to just have the background white and without a band name or album title, I liked the starkness of it. It feels clean and puts these characters at the forefront. I think the blank background really contrasts the colourfulness of these four. In essence, it highlights that THEY are the stars.
I hope you all like the way these four look together! They're very diverse and it's fabulous. Enjoy!
You can find the individual images of these characters below.
