Justice League - Martian Manhunter Redesign by Femmes-Fatales Justice League - Martian Manhunter Redesign by Femmes-Fatales
Justice League redesigns, part 1 of 12.

In reinventing the Justice League and basing them out of New York City, it made sense to have J'onn J'onzz become NYPD detective John Jones. I imagine him living on the Lower East Side in a small, sparsely decorated one-bedroom apartment. As night falls, he becomes the Justice League's Martian Manhunter. Largely quiet and reserved, J'onn would serve as a calming force on the team and maintains close friendships with Wonder Woman, Superman, Hawkgirl and Zatanna. Since there needs to be some drama, I decided J'onn would be carrying on a secret relationship with one of the League members. Who that is you'll all just have to use your wild imagination to conjure up thoughts to consider who it might be.

Design-wise, I stayed true to his dark blue suit. I've always thought it was very chic so I wanted to do a lot of interesting lines to add depth to the suit. Overall, I wanted it to be streamlined but have that illusion of construction. It's not a whole lot different from what we've seen him in but this is merely my take on it. I also wanted to go for a more humanoid appearance. Everyone's been doing the uber Martian thing so I figure I'd be a little more traditional.

I really like J'onn. He was one of my favorite characters on Justice League Unlimited.

Cool redesign of the Martian Manhunter.

Have you ever thought of giving DC's more obscure superheroes some love in your new version of the DCU? I'd love to see what you could do with characters like Tomorrow Woman ([link] or Triumph ([link].

I have no plans to draw redesigns for Tomorrow Woman or Triumph. As I say to everyone else, when it comes to characters people would like me to draw the best way to get me to draw them is to commission me to do so. That was how Multiple Man, Magma and Sunspot ended up in my past X-Men redesign series.

I have no money. Blast it.

I did have a couple ideas of what some more obscure superheroes would be like in your version of the DC Universe.

Here's how I see Tommie: Tommie is Clara Kendall, a television reporter and superheroine based in Los Angeles, California. Despite her friendly nature, she holds a dark secret: Unbeknownst to herself, she is an android built by T.O. Morrow and Professor Ivo for the purpose of infiltrating the emerging Justice League, and once she does, she will ignite an EMP bomb inside her body, destroying herself and wiping the League's brains out.

And as for Triumph: William MacIntyre is a powerful metahuman based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. His abilities to manipulate the EM spectrum make him one of the potentially most powerful superheroes on Earth. MacIntyre spent his life preparing to be a superhero after his powers emerged at puberty. He has potential to be a great hero, but it's hampered by his hot temper and gloryhound nature. He also is openly bisexual.

I have no money either, why do you think I take commissions? :P

Great costume. Honestly, I've never like the speedo costume he wore. I'm glad you went for the blue suit. I'm liking what you did here. Very cool.
