Secret Six redesigns, part 2 of 6.
I asked you all to pick your favourite of a list of six DC Comics anti-heroes that would form my re-envisioned Secret Six and Deadshot placed fifth. Out of 92 votes, Deadshot received 11 votes.
Before getting involved with Talia al Ghul's black ops outfit, Floyd Lawton was a man who leant himself out to anyone willing to pay for his unique skills. He grew up in an abusive home and continued the cycle of violence into his adult life. He's careless and recklessly endangers his own life in any way he can. He trained himself to be one of the deadliest assassins in the world and for years put his skills to use as a mercenary. He now works exclusively for Talia al Ghul as part of her six member team. Her deep pockets and persuasive arguments keep Floyd in check. Even though he's been a loner for most of his life, Floyd inadvertently finds himself caring about the team he associates himself with. He argues with Talia and carries on as if they are brother and sister while he spends most of his free time hanging out with Thomas Blake (AKA Catman).
In redesigning Deadshot, I wanted to keep away from giving him a costume. Deadshot would have been his codename rather than some type of villainous identity. As such, he dresses himself much like any mercenary would. He's outfitted with all the essential weapons and armour to keep him protected. I referenced his costume by including the targeting gadget on his face as well as the target plate on his chest. I also obviously referenced his previous looks by including red as part of my design here. Overall, I think he came out well.
Remember, all my previous DC Comics redesigns can be found in my gallery (like the Justice League and the JLI). Also, the information here is a speculative and creative re-envisioning of the character so it is effectively non-canon.
