I've been posting some re-envisioned Marvel Universe characters (namely, a batch of X-Men) but they haven't been getting a lot of feedback. I figure it's because they're dudes. Either way, I had a redesign of Scarlet Witch sitting around so I figured I'd finish it and post it to see if it would re-energize the series.
Before becoming a hero, Wanda Maximoff was part of an extremist mutant cult known as the Brotherhood. She was part of the primary strike force and was considered Magneto's right-hand. She was cold and distant, showing little emotion save occasional sympathy she had for her brother Pietro (AKA Quicksilver). Wanda's seemingly limitless powers made her unstoppable and the perfect heir to Magneto's throng of followers. However, Wanda's upbringing was a lie and the many acts she committed as a terrorist would soon catch up to her. Not only did the X-Men seek to bring Magneto down, but S.H.I.E.L.D. did as well.
This particular design I created was intended to be a darker, trashier look for Wanda. It's obviously inspired by her costume in The Ultimates but it takes its cues from her more traditional costumes as well. I wanted it to be sexy and show her recklessness. It's meant to reflect her being part of the Brotherhood. I kept the colours within the red family and made sure the costume was fitted to her figure. She's showing a lot of skin but I figure Wanda could alter probability enough that she'd never have a nip-slip (and that a bullet would never penetrate her skin).
Obviously, this information here is a speculative and creative re-imagining of these characters. As such, these blurbs are non-canon. The other Marvel Universe redesigns can be found in my gallery.
