Vivienne Blackwood Profile

Here's another profile for a villain from my "Femmes Fatales" series.

As detailed in my profile for Elizabeth Bathory, I knew I wanted to have a clan of vampires as villains for the Femmes Fatales. As such, I created a handful of them and began working out their individual looks, histories and personalities. Vivienne was the one who came easiest to me. I wanted each vampire to have a backstory which explained why they would choose to become vampires. For Vivienne, becoming a vampire was the only way out of slavery. She was routinely sexually abused by her father/owner and saw the cruelty that was inflicted upon the other slaves. Upon becoming a vampire, it's ironic that Vivienne inflicts much of the same pain onto others. Of course, there's an interesting "human" angle to her as well. She hurts those who she feels have done wrong. In many ways, she would possibly see herself as a bit of a freedom fighter. She would lash out against racists and homophobes taking pleasure in seeing how they fall apart while being tortured. Another facet of her character that I added was that she's actually quite kind towards children and will go so far as to protect them if a fellow vampire attempts to hurt them. In a lot of ways, she wants to prevent children from having their childhoods stolen the way hers was. That said, she's far from good. She's Bathory's right-hand woman and comes up with all kinds of nasty schemes. Vivienne is one fierce vamp you've got to watch out for!

In terms of her appearance, I decided from the get-go that all of Bathory's vamps (with the exception of one) would dress in S&M gear. They love their leather and latex. As such, Vivienne's decked out in some leather and dominatrix boots. Doesn't she look like she's ready to tie you up and gag you? Of course, there's no guarantee that she would drain you dry... (of your blood)...
