Description
This is the third character profile for my Wonder Woman: The Animated Series concept.
In creating a history for Hippolyta, I wanted to tie her into the existing mythologies surrounding the Amazons. This meant referencing their involvement in the Trojan war and the death of her older sister. This also necessitated the suggestion that Aphrodite would be the Amazons' patron goddess. Since the Amazons sided with the Trojans, this would mean that they would have the favour of Aphrodite, Ares, Artemis and Apollo. But I digress.
For a design, I wanted to marry the DCEU style with the iconic image of a purple-clad brunette Hippolyta that most Wonder Woman fans would think of. Although, I did almost have her dressed in white with blond hair (eschewed that since that's how another character will look). The idea was to have her look both soft and hard. She has the metal chest plate, but a very elegant lavender gown as well.

Anyone ever noticed how Diana is like, the ONLY major Super Hero raised by birth parents that turned out stable. Like, the only one, except for maybe Flash, depending on how you interpret his past. As such I've always seen Hippolyta having two possible interpretations. Being a testament to single mothers everywhere, or to show a stable homosexual relationship can actually work as far as the raising children department is concerned (alongside Phillipus). I usually prefer the single-motherhood stuff with the Phillipus romance coming later in her life. As far as the top Amazonian warriors are concerned I tend to ranks them as such:

As for voice actors- she's the only one I can actually definitively say who I'd want to play her. Lynda Carter. Think it'd be fitting.
